ANETTE PREHN: BRAINSMART LEADERSHIP
In its essence, leadership is facilitation of neural connections. This facilitation takes place whether a leader knows about the brain or not. The brain follows certain rules, but they are unfortunately still a secret to most. Therefore, the brain easily becomes an opponent when leaders try to pursue change, grow a more flexible mindset and tackle social interaction in the organisation. This book gives the insights and tools to boost leadership presence and relational power. When a leader has read this book s/he won’t look at motivation, performance and learning in the same way as before!
When leaders take the rules into account and “play along” with brain logic, they experience a new lightness because they now know what is at stake in the brain. Along with being challenged to take 7 paradigm shifts in their thinking, leaders are also invited to use this new knowledge to grow their own mental flexibility, empathy and ethics in interacting with others.
