INGER WOLF: BRÆNDTE SJÆLE
New thrilling crime series with a scientific and psychological slant, featuring Christian Falk, a psychiatrist who assists East Jutland (Denmark) Police with unusual crimes.
When Anton Jørgensen is reported missing, East Jutland Police quickly realize they need help; though there is no body, a number of bizarre details – a dismembered ear, a large cache of psychedelic mushrooms, a bloodied bathroom – makes it clear they are dealing with a homicide out of the ordinary.
The chief investigative officer contacts Christian Falk. The psychiatrist is finishing up a major research project on the brains of serial killers, and to his dismay he has recently discovered that one of the project’s participants used a false identity. Despite all this, Falk agrees to help the police.
To his surprise, the case forces him to put everything on the line, on a personal as well as professional level; while drawing on his psychiatric training in investigating Anton’s death, several questions that have haunted him his entire life are answered as well.
Burned Souls is the first book in a new crime series.
