BY JULIE BADURA
An intense story of love; of days in love, of losing love and remembering love.
In Days with You, the intensity of love is felt within an apartment, on benches in the middle of city parks, on the broadwalk along the water, at hospitals, at a distance and close up against the skin.
A woman and man cross paths one summer evening in June, somewhere along Gothersgade in Copenhagen, and thus begins their story of love.
Badura’s love story is the act of discovering another, of intoxicating infatuation and the force behind desire. It is a story of total loss and sudden death. About failing. And Forgiveness. About unresolved feelings. About love.
“I say goodbye to the world as I knew it. I did not know that the world looks like this seen through the mist of love. That love between two people looks like this in real life. Eternity. Everything else, before you, shadows now. Or look like carefully planned points of events that have associated themselves in a direct line to you. I have loved men before you, but not loved them apparently”
“I wonder where in the world you might be, and even if you are at home or at work this morning, and even if there are only a couple of kilometers between us, to me it still feels like you’ve disappeared. That you, our love, the two of us, everything disappeared with a simple intervention in a room at the hospital.”
