”Room for Rent” is a well written and well constructed thriller that definately mixes genre features from the thriller with a psychological drama and is packed with sharp satire and an excellent protagonist, the narrator Lennart.

Middle-aged Senior Bank Clerk Lennart Bygholm Nielsen gets his world turned upside down, when he decides to rent out a room in his home. Encountering his new lodger, 24-year-old Ukrainian Natasja, causes him to experience a world, he has never known before.
One day the Criminal Investigation Department rings Lennart’s door bell, and his new life abruptly comes to a halt. Natasja has disappeared. The police fears, that she has been murdered. And who would be a more obvious suspect, than her middle- aged male landlord?
